Understanding

Understanding…

Understanding, to understand and feel someone’s actions, to get into someone’s shoes to see things from their point of view in order to justify from their point of view their action. Can we do that? No we can’t, we can’t accept each other’s weaknesses as we differ in our beliefs which vary from people to people from society to society and from country to country.

Would you ever understand the actions of someone that tied C4 around him and blew up a city block in order to drive out of his country the non-believers? No we wouldn’t. We could never see things from their point of view, as we cannot accept atrocities, such as killing someone, especially someone that may have the same beliefs that we have, and that in the end stops us from seeing things from their point of view. This in turn does not help, as we cannot understand the problem, and when you cannot understand the problem you cannot solve it.

Psychopaths, extremists, racists etc all have a reason to back up their ideas. By not understanding their ideology by not sympathising with their ideology we cannot do anything to stop them from doing whatever they did, again in the future. A system which does not recognise it’s faults and is not willing to do something about it other than execute the criminals or put them in prison, is bound to have that same problem again and again. So I would suggest that people take the time and discuss with people that have problems, to read some books and try to understand those people. Try to see the reason behind all these things that they do in order to learn not to accept them, but learn from their faults, to find a way to fix this problem.

If we learn to understand, we learn to help each other.

Try to understand to avoid a darker future. Try to walk in their shoes.
